What is a resale business?

Resale business

THE 30-SECOND ANSWER

A resale business buys finished goods from suppliers and sells them to end customers or other businesses without manufacturing them.

In plain English

Retail arbitrage, pallet buying, liquidation, scratch-and-dent appliances, returns processing, used equipment, all of it is resale. The mechanics are the same: acquire inventory below what someone else will pay, then sell it before it costs you money to hold.

What separates a hobby from a business is repeatability: a supply you can go back to, numbers you can read, and enough working capital to buy again before the last load clears.

Example

Buying a manifested truckload of returned appliances, testing and grading each unit, and retailing them out of a leased bay is a resale business.

Why it matters

Every part of Blueprint, entity, terms, inventory, capital, is built around this one repeating cycle.
