What is a liquidation truckload?

Truckload

THE 30-SECOND ANSWER

A truckload is a full trailer of inventory, typically customer returns, overstock or open-box goods, sold as one lot at a per-load or per-unit price.

In plain English

Loads vary enormously: manifested or unmanifested, sorted or raw, single-category or mixed, and graded by condition.

You are buying an average, not a unit. Some units retail near new, some need parts, some are scrap. The load only works if the average clears your costs.

Example

A 22-pallet appliance load at $18,000 delivered. If 140 sellable units average $340, the load works.

Why it matters

Load buying is how resale businesses reach volume that unit-by-unit sourcing cannot.

COMMON MISTAKEPricing the load off the best units on the manifest and ignoring the tail.
